She Does it All for “Jesus”

The professed “Christian” males in the blogosphere who attacked Slice for pointing out the obvious—that Miley Cyrus, despite her claims of doing all for Jesus, is a terrible role model for girls–must be thrilled with Miley’s latest photo shoot for Elle Magazine. The empty professions of knowing Jesus while behaving like a street walker bring shame on the name of Jesus Christ. It’s that simple. Miley needs to know the true Christ of Calvary who shed his blood in agony on the cross for sin. Those who have risen from the death of sin to new life in Christ know that “old things are passed away, and all things are become new.” We are no longer clothed in the rags of our sin and degradation, but clothed in righteousness of our Savior. As Christian women, no longer do we desire to look and act like seductresses to win the approval of lustful men. We seek instead to honor the one who gave all for us on the cross.
The Cyrus family claim to be Christians. The tragedy today is that many Christian fathers are not leading their families in wisdom and godliness. They are up to their necks in the world, and their daughters are like lambs led to the slaughter. The celebrity world is littered with destroyed lives of both men and women who lived for the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. “There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof is the way of death.” Proverbs 14:12.
That’s why the message of the true Gospel is so important. The carnal, American perverted “gospel” today is a lie, and it ultimately leads to the destruction of lives and souls. Those who really love the unsaved will hold forth the true message of hope and life and the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ alone.
