Statement from Rick Warren on Obama Invocation

Dec 19 by Ingrid Schlueter

Rick Warren has issued the following statement following the hooha from the homosexual groups protesting his inaugural prayer.

“I commend President-elect Obama for his courage to willingly take enormous heat from his base by inviting someone like me, with whom he doesn’t agree on every issue, to offer the Invocation at his historic Inaugural ceremony.

“Hopefully individuals passionately expressing opinions from the left and the right will recognize that both of us have shown a commitment to model civility in America.

“The Bible admonishes us to pray for our leaders. I am honored by this opportunity to pray God’s blessing on the office of the President and its current and future inhabitant, asking the Lord to provide wisdom to America’s leaders during this critical time in our nation’s history.”

Civility, Mr. Warren, is not the same thing as complicity. Further, I’d like to ask Mr. Warren how civil it is to cut up a pre-born baby with a knife and hurl out the parts with the trash? How civil is it to inject a womb with saline solution and burn a baby to death over the course of two-days? How civil is it to allow a baby to be partially born, its skull punctured and crushed and its broken body tossed into an incinerator? That, sir, is what your “courageous” President stands for. Need proof, Mr. Warren? How about this news story this morning that Mr. Obama is about to give the child-killing industry a bailout to the tune of billions with our tax money? Is this civil? Is this courageous? Shame, shame on supposedly Christian pastors who aid and legitimize  the butchers of mankind.
