This morning, a newspaper featured photos of teen idol and professed Christian, Miley Cyrus, 16, pole dancing in a sexually charged dance routine at the Teen Choice Awards. The paper reports:

Miley Cyrus is a teen star with a wholesome image.
But there was nothing innocent about her dance routine at the Teen Choice Awards last night. Dressed in micro shorts, black leather biker boots and wearing piles of jewellery, the 16-year-old appeared older than her years as she cavorted around a pole onstage.

And those are the “Teen Choice” awards, people. Children today are growing up in a highly eroticized culture where even the professed “Christians” behave in a manner that would have gotten them arrested for public indecency not all that long ago. Fully 93% of all American singles now engage in fornication, and statistics for evangelical Christians are not much below that. Pornography has saturated our culture, along with filthy movies and television. We’re living in Sodom now.

In this piece by Rebecca Hagelin, the issue of raising our children in this culture is addressed. A passive response by Christian parents will result in the destruction of their children. It takes active, purposeful and prayer-drenched child-rearing to protect our children from the moral minefield the enemy has set up in our culture today.
