Save Us From Your Followers, Lord, (Including the Producers of This Film)
Nov 07 by Ingrid Schlueter
There’s a new movie buzz among evangelicals. It’s been several hours since the last one so it’s about time. This time it’s a Christian movie about…how bad and stupid Christians are and how we need to change everything because we all look like Fred Phelps. Got that? And the producers are “just trying to start a conversation…” as they use half-truths and movie manipulation to do it. This film uses some great Third Reich movie demonization techniques to make Christians look as reprehensible as possible. The Christian Problem. Hmmm. Something must be done about that.
Lord, Save Us From Your Followers can teach us about ourselves according to Jack Hayford.
“I think it’s a fascinating title… and this is a stroke of genius in the film…people need to see that the world knows better how we think, than we know how they think… learning about ourselves is humbling. They don’t think we have an answer because they only see we have an argument.” -
Dear Friends,
Churches all over the nation are screening our new film, LORD, SAVE US FROM YOUR FOLLOWERS. A conversation is starting within the church about how to make the best impact on our culture and how to build great relationships with people who do not share our faith.
Here’s what they’re saying:
* “I think it’s a fascinating title… and this is a stroke of genius in the film… people need to see that the world knows better how we think, than we know how they think… learning about ourselves is humbling. (Note: You need two biased, liberal movie makers to teach you about yourself, Jack? You think that half truths and caricatures are helpful?) They don’t think we have an answer because they only see we have an argument.” – Pastor Jack Hayford (President, Foursquare Church)
* “Don’t let the title fool you. This is more than a movie… it’s the start of a dialogue that I believe has the power to break down walls and reflect a love that is at the heart of why I believe God sent His Son.” – Gunnar Simonsen (President, Christian Supply) (Note: Couldn’t they get Rick Warren?)
* “In our work throughout the U.S. and around the world, our task to lead people to the Lord is challenged by the perceptions and opinions regarding Christians that are captured so compellingly in Lord, Save Us From Your Followers. (Note: We’re supposed to please the unregenerate, folks and make them LIKE US so they want to hear what we have to say. I certainly see the Apostles following that model of evangelism, don’t you?) Whether you’re a follower of Christ or not, you’ll likely find something in this well-done project to ponder and, perhaps, to enjoy. By showing some of the heat, these filmmakers have produced considerable light on a central issue of contemporary life.” – Kevin Palau (Executive Vice President, Luis Palau Association)
The producers’ hope is for every church in America to screen this film for their congregation (My note: I’ll bet they do – these things aren’t cheap to make!) – and ultimately for their community. Some churches are renting theaters to do community events. (Translation: We want you to go and rent out a theater just like the lemmings that Christians are…) (If your current finances stand in the way you using this powerful tool please call 1-800-999-0101 to arrange a special consideration.)

When the New Spirituality police come to remove Bible believing Christians from their homes and churches, expect these little weenies with cameras to be at the front end of the phalanx. Save us, indeed, Lord.
